Our story
Vi Vadi Hotels, a company owned by the Meister family, was founded in 2008 by Michael Meister, Maximilian Königsbauer, and Clemens Zuch. Its name can be traced back to the vision and the strategic partnership the three share with restaurateur Gioacchino Castronovo, who has had a great deal of success running Ristorante Vi Vadi on Munich's Marsstraße since 1999. Today, Vi Vadi Hotels and its more than 40 employees operate three very attractive locations in the heart of the city.
It all began when Michael, Maximilian, and Clemens – three friends between the ages of 22 and 24 – took over a boarding house that had gone a bit off the rails near Munich's main train station and turned it into a three-star full-service hotel. In doing so, they joined forces with Gioacchino, who led the team responsible for ensuring that the hotel's guests would have a first-rate restaurant right downstairs. Together, they decided to name the new hotel after the restaurant – and thus was born the Vi Vadi Hotel. While it has undergone extensive renovations in recent years, many of those who helped make the original hotel a success are still with the company today.
That initial success opened doors to new opportunities, as well. In 2015, Vi Vadi Hotels celebrated the grand opening of our second location with an equally grand party (which some will surely remember). It can be found at Bayerstraße 89, hence the name “Bayer 89”. This hotel is near and dear to our hearts because we oversaw the complete transformation of a former office building and shaped it into our vision of an upscale mid-range hotel every step of the way.
Just one year later, we were asked whether we could imagine taking over the exclusive boutique hotel La Maison in Alt-Schwabing. Our answer: of course! Anyone familiar with this hotel can imagine our reaction. At La Maison, we started by making changes with the utmost care. We furnished all the rooms with luxury beds from the brands SIMMONS, TRECA, and COCO-MAT, for example, and upgraded the conference rooms with new equipment. Since then, we've redesigned large parts of the foyer, as well. That includes the reception area, the bar, and the restaurant – Nikkei Grill, which will soon offer unique Peruvian-Japanese specialities to locals and visitors alike. In 2023, the hotel was ever so slightly renamed to the La Mansion Vi Vadi Hotel.
